I’d love to have Ian participate in the Summer Reading Club... who would be among the younger kids… My suggestion, would be, to pair one of the younger kids with one of the raising 2nd and 3rd graders; in that manner, they all get the sense of ownership, THEY ARE READING TOO… and as you eloquently put it: the point is not just reading the words but, but make them think about the characters, the stories, the fun of reading books, ‘the virtual travels’, the world of possibilities, etc., etc. Would you think about it?
